'The Jungle Book' movie review by audience: Live update

The Hindi version of Hollywood movie "The Jungle Book" (TJB), directed by Jon Favreau and starring Neel Sethi as Mowgli, has received positive reviews from the Indian audience.

"The Jungle Book" is a fantasy adventure film, which is based on Rudyard Kipling's eponymous novel. It is a live-action/CGI reimaging of Walt Disney's 1967 animated film of the same name. The movie revolves around the story of Mowgli (Neel Sethi), who is spotted in the jungle by Bagheera and raised by wolves.

Black panther Bagheera finds baby Mowgli (Neel Sethi) in the forest and raises him with the help of Indian wolves Raksha and Akela. Mowgli decides to leave the jungle, when Bengal tiger Sher Khan threatens his life. He sets out on a journey of self-discovery and Bagheera and the bear Baloo come forward to guide him. Indian audience are well aware of the story of "The Jungle Book" as many of them have watched the TV serial based on the book. The viewers say it is not easy to recreate the story of a film, which is already known to everyone. But Favreau took up the challenge and succeeded in it. He has managed to introduce something new to the old story, which is the beauty of the movie.

Bollywood stars Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nana Patekar and Om Puri have given voiceovers for various characters like Baloo, Kaa, Shere Khan and Bagheera respectively in the Hindi version of "The Jungle Book." Their voices are among the biggest assets of the movie, say many film goers.

The makers have used CGI effects to the maximum in "The Jungle Book," but have made sure that the movie looks real.
