Amid the sexual assault controversy, a sex tape has been doing the rounds claiming that the man in the footage is the South Korean actor-singer Jung Joon Young. However, his agency has clarified that the man in the video is not Joon Young.
"The man in the video that has been going around is not Jung Joon Young. We didn't say anything about it because we didn't think it was worth making a response, but because it continues to be spread, we will be discussing how to deal with it," his agency C9 Entertainment said in a statement.
The agency further said that after proper investigation they will take a decision whether they will take a legal action against the unknown who leaked the sex tape and said that the man in the video is Joon Young.
Meanwhile, in a major relief for the actor, Seoul Eastern Prosecutors Office announced on Thursday that they have acquitted Joon Young in the sexual assault case. The sexual assault case was filed by his ex-girlfriend due to some "misunderstanding," his agency had said. Following the case, the actor had issued the statement saying that he had filmed his ex-girlfriend during sex, but it was with her consent.
Following the controversy, the actor stepped down from several shows and cancelled his performance at a music festival. After stepping down from KBS's show, 2 Days & 1 Night, the actor was recently edited out of the reality show Law of the Jungle.
"The footage of Jung Joon Young in the South Pacific season of 'Law of the Jungle,' which is set to air in early November, was already filmed before he was charged on September 23," the official statement of the channel read.
However, now since he has been acquitted fans can expect him to see on reality shows soon.
