The sequel to Salman Khan's 1990s comedy-action film "Judwaa" has been in the news ever since reports said Varun Dhawan was stepping into the superstar's shoes. The latest update on it is that it may star Jacqueline Fernandez.
"Sajid (Nadiadwala) had come to the set. He met all the actors, and for a while sat in a vanity van chit-chatting with Varun and Jacqueline. We overheard Judwaa 2 being discussed with them. The discussion seemed intense," a source told SpotboyE. The actors were then filming for the climax scene of "Dishoom" at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios.
Earlier, there were a few other names associated with the project too. Actress Neha Sharma's sister Aisha Sharma was apparently being considered to star alongside Varun. A source told DNA that the makers were on the lookout for a fresh face for the film and the Kingfisher Calendar girl fits the bill.
"She was to make her film debut last year with a Telugu film, but was replaced by Raashi Khanna in that film," the daily quoted the insider as saying.
It is being said, Paksitani actress Mawra Hocane, whose debut film (Bollywood) "Sanam Teri Kasam" sank without a trace at the box office, is one of the top contenders for the role. That's not all, rumours suggest that Sonakshi Sinha and Kareena Kapoor Khan could be a part of it, the Express Tribune reports. Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt are a few names that are floating around.
Meanwhile, Varun is thrilled to be working in the second instalment. Talking to the Press Trust of India, he said the film is a "big responsibility," adding that it will be different from the first one. "My father (David Dhawan) and Sajid Nadiadwala have proved themselves, I am the new person coming into the franchise, so I have to prove myself now," he further elaborated.
