Many dreams come true, but some have silver linings! Indian artist Prasad Bhat was on cloud nine when Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford gave a shoutout to him at the Wacken Open Air 2018 and also sent a message to India that he'd love to perform in Bangalore soon.
So how did this just happen? Prasad Bhat, a die-hard metalhead who adores and worships Judas Priest, made three amazing copies of Rob Halford's caricature. He asked his friend (who runs Bangalore Open Air) to hand it over to him at the concert, as he had backstage access to the gig and get it signed by the singer.
Little did he know that Rob Halford would love his caricature so much, that the singer asked all the three copies for himself and gave a shoutout to Prasad appreciating his amazing work. Here's what Prasad had to say on Facebook about the whole thing:
"So here's what happened. Salman U. Syed called to say that he might get to see Halford at Wacken. I decided to make the artwork. Gave him three prints. One signed copy for me, one for Salman and one for Halford," Prasad said.
"Salman at Wacken wasn't let in Halford's room(camp) so he gave it to Halford's manager. The manager went in to show the artwork and Halford immediately wanted to meet our man. Came out and said "I want All the copies. One for my office, one for my jam room and one for my house." And then Salman asked if he could give a shout-out to me. He totally did. This was an incredible event. Very overwhelmed. Times like these make all the hard work worth it. Thank you," Prasad added.
However, the million dollar question arises as to when will Judas Priest come to India and make every metalheads' dream come true. From bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer, Bangalore has witnessed the best heavy metal bands live in action. Every Indian metalhead's wish would come true when Judas Priest visits the country. We hope that happens pretty soon.
