Actor Jr NTR is set to team up with director Sukumar for a new film. The film's pooja was held on Thursday, 18 December in Chennai.
The shooting of the yet-to-be-titled film will begin on 7 January. The NTR-starrer is touted as a stylish revenge drama with the actor playing the lead role. The film will be produced by BVSN Prasad of "Chatrapathi" and "Attarintiki Daaredi" fame. Details about the film's cast and crew are still awaited.
This is the first time that NTR will be teaming up with director Sukumar. The actor is currently busy shooting for Puri Jagannadh's upcoming action drama, "Temper." He is expected to begin work on the Sukumar directorial, once "Temper" is wrapped up.
Sukumar's last project "1 Nenokkadaine," starring Mahesh Babu and Kriti Sanon, was critically-acclaimed, but the film was a commercial failure. Despite getting average reviews, the director was appreciated for his bold attempt in making a non-commercial psychological thriller.
The director's next film with NTR will be carrying huge expectations as the actor has strong fan base worldwide. NTR has been going through a rough phase with his last two releases having failed to set the cash registers ringing.
The actor's upcoming film, "Temper", is carrying positive pre-release buzz, thanks to its impressive first-look posters. Trade experts and fans will be eager to see if the film will be able to strike gold at the box office.
"Temper" is expected to hit the screens for Sankranti, though there have been reports doing the rounds that the film's release might get pushed to February. NTR will be playing the role of a cop in the action entertainer, while Kajal Aggarwal appears as the female lead for the third time after "Brindavanam" and "Baadshah." Bandla Ganesh is producing the film under Parameswara Art Productions banner.
