Jordana Brewster celebrates her 36th birthday on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Best known for her role as Mia in the "Fast & Furious" franchise, the actress is now also bagging accolades for her role as Denise in "People v O.J. Simpson."
"Fast & Furious 8" is finally rolling, with various reports suggesting that the film has officially begun shooting in Cuba. Vin Diesel along with franchise regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black will be seen reprising their respective roles. However, it looks like Jordana Brewster (Mia) is prioritising other projects, especially "People v O.J. Simpson," over "Fast & Furious." Is it because there is no Paul Walker any more?
Diesel only recently revealed the first poster of "Furious 8," (expected to be released on April 14, 2017), and with this launched a new trilogy of films, which also includes "Fast and Furious 9," to arrive on April 19, 2019, and "Fast and Furious 10," slated for April 2, 2021.
While all the actors are busy with their "Fast & Furious 8" shooting schedules, Brewster has not been much in the news. When the actress was asked about the film in a recent interview with CBS News, she said: "I don't think it'll ever be the same working on the series after Paul Walker's death. It's very, very sad now that he's gone."
But, at the same time, she admitted that she really fought to bag the role of Denise Brown on "People v O.J. Simpson."
"I heard they were making it and I always felt like my aunt actually really looked a lot like Denise Brown, so my manager and I took a side-by-side photo edit of me and Denise and we fought really hard for it. We just fought to get that show," she confessed.
The actress also said the "People v O.J. Simpson" set was amazing, and that it was petrifying to work in front of talents like John Travolta.
As much as Brewster, even fans feel Mia is going to be incomplete without Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker). And it could well be the reason the actress is now concentrating on her other roles.
