The Jonas Brothers have confirmed that they have split unanimously owing to a "deep rift within the band."
It hasn't been easy being a Jonas Brothers' fan for the last few weeks, with the boy band cancelling a tour and rumours of a split. Just when fans began to digest the fact that the band cancelled off a tour in the last minute, a spokeswoman confirmed that the brothers have decided to call it quits.
Band members Kevin, Joe, and Nick 21 confirmed to People magazine that they have decided to go separate ways.
"It's over for now," said Kevin.
"It's really hard to say 'forever,' " said Nick. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."
"It was a unanimous decision," said Joe.
Just last week, the magazine reported of a rift between the band members that was growing wider with each passing day.
"They are not getting along at all. It's uglier than you think," a music industry source told the magazine. "They are each looking into solo projects. Nick and the Administration are working on another album. They are moving forward away from the Jonas Brothers. I think this is the beginning of the end."
Another source had dismissed the reports as rumors and said the brothers are still talking to each other.
The musical trio even went on to deactivate their official Twitter account @JonasBrothers. Come to think of it, this all could have been a build-up to the grand "split" announcement.
Fans were left devastated by the news and many took to Twitter to share how "shattered" they were that the pop-rock band split.
"My heart is shattered into millions of pieces. the jonas brothers were already a part of me. Why did this have to happen? :(" tweeted @babyDEMIkens
Another JoBro fan @bieberjonasxox echoed those sentiments saying, "I'm crying. It's done, they're over. The Jonas Brothers are officially calling it quits. I just.. I can't. I'm speechless."
"So the Jonas Brothers officially split up...I feel like I can hear the cries of millions of teenage girls around the world," @justinshanley wrote.
