John Legend just made a statement on his parenting skills and it is truly inspiring. In a recent tweet, he asked all the baby shamers to criticise him and wife Chrissy Teigen equally so that she doesn't have to bear the brunt of it.
Legend tweeted, "Funny there's no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn't have to take it all. We'll split it."
The singer-songwriter made this post after the couple was harshly criticised for going on a date night, leaving behind their one-week-old daughter Luna Simone at home.
Teigen's response was equally spirited. The "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit model tweeted, "I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!"
She added, "I never wanted to leave my daughter, i love her, BUT THAT'S JUST ME" - the passive aggressiveness is real!"
Comedian Desi Lydic added his own bit of humour to the event. On "The Daily Show," Lydic said, "You're worried about the quality of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's child care? It's not like they're getting their nanny off Craigslist. They're rich celebrities. They could get Mary Poppins to watch their baby, as in literally call Julie Andrews, get her to come out of retirement to babysit in character as Mary Poppins," according to Entertainment Weekly.
The "All of Me" singer responded to this by stating that Mary Poppins only has a weekend job.
Legend, 37, is known for being vocal about women's rights, equality and incarceration in the U.S. While answering fans' questions in March, the singer said that he believes women should have equal rights in politics, offices and at home. "I believe in equality for women in every way. I try to practice that in the way I hire and in the way I interact with women," he added.
