A session court in Mumbai has rejected actor John Abraham's plea challenging his imprisonment for 15 days given to him by a lower court in a 2006 rash driving case and sent the 39-year-old actor to judicial custody for 15 days.
Two persons - Shyam Kasbe (22) and Tanmay Majhi (19) - were injured while John's bike hit them in Mumbai's Bandra April 8.
Police had booked a case against the actor under IPC Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others). John took the injured person to hospital.
Earlier, for the same case, the metropolitan magistrate's court in Bhandra convicted the actor Oct. 14, 2010 for 15 days simple imprisonment. However, he was granted bail the same day.
