Bollywood's new groom John Abraham, who returned to Mumbai from Los Angeles, attended Pratibimb NGO's event along with his parents at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium on Saturday.
The actor was spotted without a wedding ring on his finger at the function. When he was questioned about his marriage with investment banker girlfriend Priya Runchal, John stated that he will hold a press conference to talk about his wedding, reported Mid Day.
Priya, who is now in the United States, will be joining him only in February. Until then, it looks like their honeymoon will have to wait.
The "Madras Café" actor married his girlfriend Priya in a private ceremony in Los Angeles. The duo met through common friends in 2010. The actor was in a relationship with longtime girlfriend Bipasha Basu, but split from her in 2011. Sources have claimed that John and Bipasha parted ways as John had wanted to marry Priya. However, the actor has denied the allegations that Priya was the reason behind his split with Bipasha, reported Emirates 24/7.
While he oepnly spoke about his relationship with Bipasha, John has been tight lipped about his relationship with Priya and had never spoken about her in the media. The news of his wedding came as a real surprise to many in the film industry.
However, John's father revealed that their marriage was a pre-planned one. He said that the couple preferred a court marriage, which does not involve many rituals and traditions, reported Bollywood Hungama. Apparently, John's friends from the industry were also not present at the wedding.
On the career front, John will be soon seen in Anees Bazmee's "Welcome Back", a sequel to 2007-blockbsuter flick "Welcome." The actor will resume shooting for the film after 15 January.
The film will reportedly have a Christmas release this year and is likely to clash with Ranbir Kapoor's "Bombay Velvet" at the box office.
