Latest buzz in tinsel town is that actor John Abraham is the most likely choice for Shubash Ghai's remake of 1993 blockbuster "Khalnayak".
Filmmaker Ghai, who has produced several classic hits like "Hero", "Karma", "Ram Lakhan" is considering to remake the old movies with a new approach.
"My films 'Hero', 'Karma', 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Khalnayak' will be re-written and will be made in a fresh way," he told IANS
And presently, the ace director is busy reprising the "Khalnayak" which took Sanjay Dutt to new heights of success.
"We are planning something on 'Khalynayak'. We are working on that. We have few directors on board and we will make the announcement soon. We don't want to reveal much now," Ghai told Press Trust of India.
"We are looking to present the story in a contemporary way."
But when asked of John's presence in the project, Ghai dodged the question saying, "We are still in the scripting stage. Once we finish scripting, we will think about the star cast. For us, the idea and the concept come first."
Whatever be the case, we do know for sure that Sanjay is not going to be a part of the remake owing to the three year jail sentence imposed on his in connection to 1993 Mumbai Blasts case.
"Khlanayak" starred Sanjay in the role of a gangster along with Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit as police officers. The film became a huge success after it hit the screens and Sanjay was arrested days after that.
