Jnanpith Award winning writer Dr C Narayana Reddy, also known as CiNaRe, died of heart-related complications at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Monday morning.
Dr C Narayana Reddy was rushed to a private hospital in the city after he complained of chest pain. But the litterateur was pronounced dead. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said he was shocked to learn the news about his demise and offered his heartfelt condolences to his family.
Dr C Narayana Reddy, who was born at Hanumanjipet in Rajanna Sircilla district on July 29 1931, graduated from the Osmania University, and earned honorary doctorates. He entered the film industry as a lyricist with Gulebakavali Katha in 1962. He got into the limelight with the song Nannu dochu Kunduvate Vannela. Then there was no looking back for this talented writer, who went on pen over 3,000 songs.
