A soldier of the Indian Army was killed late on Wednesday as Pakistan troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The deceased jawan, identified as Sepoy Rachpal Singh, had suffered injuries in sniper fire. He was admitted to a hospital in critical condition, and he succumbed to his injuries later.
Singh, who was in 22-Sikh unit, sustained injuries while he was guarding forward Parvinder post along the LoC on Wednesday night.
This is the third time that the Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and launched a sniper attack. Earlier, two soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed along LoC in Kashmir Valley.
