A grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district left at least eight people injured on Saturday.
Unknown persons hurdled a grenade close to a police station in Shopian in south Kashmir, and several civilians were hurt in the incident.
According to the Press Trust of India, militants hurled a grenade at a police party in Shopian's town market, but missed their target. The grenade exploded in a crowded place.
Grenade attacks are commonly reported in Jammu and Kashmir, and are often aimed at the police or paramilitary forces.
In December, a grenade attack killed one paramilitary personnel and injured six others in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
