For the 1st time since 1947, the Jammu & Kashmir government makes hoisting of Tricolour mandatory overall government buildings. The decision was taken by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
This is the biggest decision made after the abrogation of Article 370 and this comes months after PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti insulted the tricolour.
LG Sinha himself issued the necessary instructions in this regard, following which the Office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu on bygone Friday (26 March) directed all the Deputy Commissioners and Heads of the Departments to implement the directions within the next 15 days.
Following the same, in Kashmir Valley, Anantnag's Deputy Commissioner Dr Piyush Singla has issued a circular to the district heads and all the district, sectoral, tehsil, and block-level officers to comply with the directions. District heads have also been instructed to submit the progress report on a daily basis in this regard.
