'19 Kids and Counting' star Jill Duggar, who is more than a week past her due date, is still waiting for her baby's arrival, despite her husband tweeting she was in delivery.
On Friday, her husband Derick Dillard tweeted that his wife was in labour, but it turned out she was just experiencing early contractions called Braxton Hicks contractions. Jill confirmed the news on her Instagram account, writing: "Out to lunch…maybe this spicy Mexican food will make the baby come! Only Braxton Hicks contractions with this weather so far."
"We shall see what the weekend brings! #nobabyyet #lunchwithmyhubby" Jill added, and Derick noted that "Baby dilly will come in God's timing. #babydilly #41weeksandcounting #notinactivelaboryet."
Derick is clearly excited to become a parent, and on Friday he blogged his enthusiasm by relating this life-changing event to his understanding of the Bible.
In the blog post titled "Jill's Labor and My Understanding of the Bible," Derek wrote: "I can't even describe right now the anticipation I am feeling, as I am about to get to meet my firstborn son for the first time face to face. So many people have already testified that nothing can quite describe that moment and that I'll just have to experience it for myself."
"When I look around, I can see new life everywhere. The trees are budding, which means summer is near. My wife, Jill, is beginning to have contractions which means that the birth of our son is near," he added.
The birth of Jill and Derick's first son is being documented for "19 Kids and Counting," and it will air on TLC on 5 May. The episode will be a two-hour special featuring Jill's mother Michelle Duggar's best parenting tips.
It is not immediately known what the baby who has been referred to as "baby Dilly" will actually be named, but the Dillards too are expected to follow a theme similar to what the Duggars have in place. All 19 Duggar children have their names starting with the letter J.
"We are not going to do a letter theme," Jill told People last year. "We may do some kind of theme, like family names."
