Gopichand's "Jil" has opened to a fantastic response at the box office worldwide, while the other new release "Rey" featuring Mega family hero Sai Dharam Tej has received average response.
"Jil" has been creating ripples in the media ever since it was announced. Its promos created lot of curiosity among film goers. The makers had massive promotions for it. The movie had decent advance booking for its first day. Trade experts in T-town predicted that it would open to an overwhelming response at the box office and become the biggest opener for Gopichand.
As predicted, the Gopichand-Raashi Khanna starrer film, which released in over 700 screens around the world on 27 March, debuted with superb response. The screening of the film was started much earlier than the regular schedule in many places and theatres saw decent response from movie buffs.
"Jil" registered an average of 70 per cent occupancy for the first official show. The movie ran to packed houses at many places. The average occupancy for the film reached 80 percent in the subsequent shows and expected to go up further in the evening shows. Early trends suggest the film is likely to collect approximately ₹4 crore to ₹4.50 crore at the worldwide box office on the first day.
The other new release "Rey", which was delayed for more than a year, has also created lot of curiosity among the audiences, with its promos going viral on the Internet. Released in over 450 screens worldwide, the movie opened to an average response, but showed decent growth, with occupancy crossing 50 per cent in the later shows.
The word-of-mouth is likely to take the business of "Rey" upwards in the evening shows. If early trends are any indication, the movie is expected to collect around ₹2+ crore at the worldwide box office on the first day.
