One of the reasons of her depression is believed to be her on-and-off again relationship with boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi. According to a DNA report, she had last talked to Pancholi before taking the drastic step. (Read the report here).
Jiah's mother Rabiya Amin in her statement to the police admitted that the actress was dating Pancholi, but she did not blame him or anyone else for her daughter's death.
On Monday night, Jiah was found hanging by her mother at her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in Juhu, Mumbai. She had used her dupatta to hang herself to the ceiling fan.
"Nafisa Khan, who is known as Jiah Khan, was found hanging by her mother at around 10.45 pm at her residence on the first floor of Sagar Sangeet [apartment]," deputy commissioner of police Chhering Dorje had said.
