A man and woman were beaten to death in Jharkhand's Godda district early on Saturday for having an illicit relationship, said the police.
Mahendra Sao, 50, was reportedly found in a compromising position with the woman, 25, in the district, about 500 km from Ranchi.
The angry family members called panchayat and decided to kill both. They were brutally beaten to death, said the police.
The couple was allegedly beaten to death by the woman's family. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem.
The family members and people of the locality were aware of the couple's relationship. Just as they caught they red-handed, the couple was beaten to death. Nobody has been arrested in the case so far.
The woman's family said it was a land dispute, said the police.
