At least 13 people, including six children, were killed when Howrah-Bhopal Express hit a car at an unmanned level crossing in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Monday night.
Four women and three men were killed in the mishap in addition to the children. The deceased were returning from a marriage, ANI reported.
The accident took place near Bhurkhunda railway station in the district. The area falls under Patratu police station, Superintendent of Police M Tamilvanan told PTI.
The police and railways administration arrived at the accident spot and the dead bodies were shifted to a hospital for postmortem.
"The bodies will be taken for postmortem and then the investigation will proceed," Ramgarh Deputy Collector A Dodde said.
The train left for Bhopal around midnight.
