Dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" (JDJ) hasn't fared well this season. The only redeemer now happens to be the celebrities who attend the show to promote their films.
This weekend, Kareena Kapoor Khan entered the sets of "JDJ" dancing to Yo Yo Honey Singh's "Aata Majhi Satakli" from her upcoming action-packed masala movie "Singham Returns" opposite Ajay Devgn. Wearing a beige Manish Malhotra anarkali, Khan looked every inch a stunner.
During the shoot, the actress was visibly thrilled with the performances and had wise words for each of the participants. Dancing star Akshat Singh, happened to be her favourite and she graced the dance floor matching steps with the prodigal dancer.
The highlight of the show was RJ Malishka's performance following which she received an impressive score from the judges and earned herself an impromptu interview with the gorgeous actress. When asked, if the people's behaviour has changed towards her after marriage (now that she belongs to the royal family), Khan quipped that only Saif Ali Khan bows before her and hope he continues to do the same. The "Singham Returns" actress then took on the role of the media and 'revealed' the RJ's love interest who was present on the set.
On popular demand, she sang along with Karan Johar and very sportingly embraced jokes on her. Khan also danced to the "Tooh" song from her last movie "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" with the judges and hosts.
Amid all the fun, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty were missing in action. There were reports that the actor is down with Malaria, and Shetty was reportedly busy with the post-production work of the film.
Apart from Khan's inimitable charm and Devgn's mysterious absence, Kushal Punjabi's ouster from the show was one of the other reasons why the dance reality show made headlines this weekend. The actor was apparently unhappy with the not-so-transparent voting system of the show, according to a PTI report on IBN Live. "I don't understand, is it a dance-based show or concept-based? I showed pure dance in my act and judges praised me and I was still shown the door. So, I am confused and from dancing perspective, I find it unfair. If I am called a superior then what is the logic behind my defeat?" Punjabi said.
The show is now left with nine celebrities - Akshat Singh, Mouni Roy, Kiku Sharda, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Shakti Mohan, Malishka, Ashish Sharma and Tara Jean Popowich.
