"Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" is all set to hit the small screen and Manish Paul, who has been associated with the show for the past four years, will reprise his role as the host this time as well.
Rumour has been doing the rounds that Manish will be paid a whopping Rs. 2.5 crore for the show, thereby making him the highest paid TV host, leaving aside the Bollywood superstars who charge a huge amount to host TV shows, the Times of India reported.
Considering Manish with his funny antics and hosting skills entertains the audience as well as the contestants and judges on the show, it seems that the makers have readily agreed to pay him the hefty amount.
Reportedly, Manish was paid Rs.1.5 crore in the previous season. This year, "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" is expected to run for around four months and if the rumour is to be believed, Manish will be paid approximately 7 lakh per episode.
Meanwhile, the ninth season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" will see a change in the format with not just solo but duet and trio performances as well. In the opening episode, contestants Helly Shah and twin sisters Poonam-Priyanka along with their respective partners will give solo performances. Gaurav Gera, Salman Y Khan along with their partner will be showcasing their dancing skills. Harpal Sokhi and Surveen Chawla will perform duet acts along with their respective partners.
The audience will also be witnessing trio dance performances by Shakti Arora, Shantanu Maheshwari and Nora Fatehi. Siddhant Gupta, Karishma Tanna and Arjun Bijlani will be performing together with their respective choreographers as well. The first episode will also see Hrithik Roshan making an appearance on the show to promote his upcoming film "Mohenjo Daro."
As for the judges, Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde will continue to be a part of the reality show for this season as well. Joining them on the judges panel will be Bollywood beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, who will mark her TV debut with "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9."
