Even as speculations regarding celebrity contestants of dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" have been doing the rounds, the confirmed list of participants along with their choreographers have finally been revealed.
While it was reported earlier that Shakti Arora had been roped in as one of the contestants of the season, the latest reports said that the "Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi" actor had been paired with choreographer Suchitra Sawant, India Forums reported. "Naagin" actor Arjun Bijlani has been partnered with Bhawna Khanduja.
"Bigg Boss 9" fame Norah Fatehi will be showing off her sizzling dance moves with the help of choreographer Cornel Rodrigues, who had partnered with Aarti Chhabria in last season.
"Swaragini" actress Helly Shah will be teaming up with Jai Kumar Nair, who had been paired with Sanaya Irani in last season. Surveen Chawla and Sidhant Gupta will be dancing with Sanam Johar and Pranali, respectively. "Bigg Boss 8" fame Karishma Tanna will be seen with choreographer Rajit Dev and Shantanu Maheshwari with Alisha Singh.
As for the judges, Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde will continue to be a part of the reality show for this season as well. Joining them on the judges' panel will be Bollywood beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, who will mark her TV debut with "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9."
It was reported that choreographers like Deepak Singh, Sneha Kapoor, Dheeraj Bakshi and others, who had been associated with the show for the past few seasons, would not be seen in the new season. Instead, new choreographers have been roped in for the ninth season.
Also, there would be several changes in the format of the show. "Interestingly, this time round each celeb contestant will have to throw in two fresh performances in a week. Reason being if a particular celeb performed during Saturday's episode, and stayed on the bench on Sunday, his or her fans refrained from watching the show on a Sunday. They want to see their favourite celeb perform both the days. How they will manage to pull off such a task, is what the creatives will have to work on," a source had told Tellychakkar.com.
