The ninth edition of dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" is just round the corner, and like every year, speculations about the judges are on the rise. Rumour has it, Shahid Kapoor may be replaced.
The "Udta Punjab" actor didn't really have a good time on the show last year and thus isn't too keen on continuing with the show, DNA reported. Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh are being considered by the team.
As pointed out by the article, the young stars have great dancing skills, a mass apeal and connect to the youth really well. These aspects make them a good fit for the judges' panel.
Schedule-wise, it may be difficult for Varun, who has already begun shooting for "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" alongside Alia Bhatt and has "Judwaa 2" next in line. Although Ranveer has not signed any other film than "Befikre" this year, the team will only wrap up by July, which is a month after "JDJ 9" begins.
"There is absolutely no pressure. It is a very light hearted film and we are going to shoot for four months from start to finish in Paris," Ranveer told IANS earlier this year.
Since the TRP ratings weren't impressive last season, makers of the show have thought of a revamp of sorts. It is being said Jacqueline Fernandez will replace Malaika Arora Khan but Karan Johar will be retained.
Shahid and host Manish Paul didn't get along well, which resulted in a cold war of sorts. Their not-so-favourable equation led the team to re-think their options.
