Even as the fans of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" are eagerly waiting for the new season of the dance reality show, which is expected to go on air from mid-June or early July, names of several possible contestants have been doing the rounds.
The latest buzz is that Adaa Khan, who plays the role of Sesha on "Naagin," has been approached for the ninth edition of the show. Besides Adaa, popular actresses Asha Negi and "Hate Story 2" actress Surveen Chawla are likely to show off their dancing skills on the show as well.
"The two actresses (Adaa and Surveen) have already been finalised for the season. The last minutes formalities are to be taken care of before a final announcement can be made," a source told Tellychakkar.com.
Other possible contestants of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" are West Indies cricket team's popular players Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo, Mandana Karimi, Nora Fatehi, Arjun Bijlani, Shakti Arora, Karishma Tanna, Sonali Raut, Ruhaanika Dhawan, Siddharth Nigam and Spandan Chaturvedi.
Meanwhile, another Tellychakkar.com report said that judge Karan Johar and mentor Ganesh Hegde would continue to be part of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9," while the makers were still in talks with last season's mentor Lauren Gottlieb. As for the female judge, the makers were keen on roping in one of the Bollywood divas: Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez or Rekha.
The viewers would also witness a change in the set of choreographers. Choreographers like Deepak Singh, Sneha Kapoor, Dheeraj Bakshi and others, who have been associated with the show for the past few seasons, would make an exit thereby paving way for new choreographers to step in.
Also, there would be several changes in the format of the show. "Interestingly, this time round each celeb contestant will have to throw in two fresh performances in a week. Reason being if a particular celeb performed during Saturday's episode, and stayed on the bench on Sunday, his or her fans refrained from watching the show on a Sunday. They want to see their favourite celeb perform both the days. How they will manage to pull off such a task, is what the creatives will have to work on," a source told the web-portal.
