Jeanine Grasmeijer, 23, from the Netherlands, pulled herself down to the record depth on a weighted line unaided by flippers, and stayed underwater for three minutes 46 seconds. But her achievement was overshadowed by the disappearance of previous world record holder Russian Nataliia Molchanova, who went missing while making a dive in the Mediterranean last year, and was later presumed dead. Grasmeijer said she had mixed feelings about breaking the record.
