The film is said to be a family drama with Priyamani playing the central role. It is scripted by Gireesh Kumar, who is joining with Malayil after a gap of 9 years. Jayaram, Malayil and Kumar trio's last film together was "Alice in Wonderland" in 2005.
Kumar began his scripting career with Malayil's "Amrutham" in 2005. He is known for scripting films like "Veruthe Oru Bharya", "Gaddama", "Swapna Sanchari", "Bharya Athra Pora" and "Pattam Pole."
The shooting of the film began in Kumarakam on 12 July. It also has a star cast of Narain and Kalabhavan Shajon.
Meanwhile, Jayaram has joined the team after wrapping up the shooting of "Uthama Villain" starring Kamal Hassan, directed by Ramesh Aravind. He plays a pivotal role of Jacob Zachariah in the film.
The actor's career has been refined in the past one year with the release "Swapanam" by Shaji N Karun and Kamal's "Nadan." Both the films increased the actor's career graph to peaks.
Jayaram played the character of Unni in "Swapnam," who is a 'Chenda' player. Whereas, "Nadan" dealt with the life of Devdas Sargavedi, who owned a popular drama company and his struggles to sustain the art of theatre and theatre artists.
At the same time, Priyamani, who is busy with Kannada and Telugu films, was last seen in Malayalam with Mohanlal in 2002 release "Grandmaster." The film was directed by B Unnikrishnan and she played the role of Deepthi, who is an advocate and the ex-wife of Chandrashekaran played by Mohanlal. She was appreciated for the ease and maturity with which she handled the character.
The new combination of Jayaram and Priyamani is expected to bring back the old charm of family stories of Malayalam cinema.
