After its release date was postponed twice, upcoming Malayalam horror-thriller "Aadupuliyattam" is expected to hit the screens soon. The makers had announced through the movie's official Facebook page that the Jayaram-starrer is poised to hit the theatres on May 20.
If the news turns out to be true, "Aadupuliyattam" will lock horns with Dulquer Salmaan's action entertainer "Kammatipaadam," which is scheduled to release the same day.
"Aadupuliyattam," directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam, will also be released as Hindi, Telugu and Tamil-dubbed versions, and is expected to be the turnaround movie of Jayaram, whose previous movies couldn't perform well at the box office for the past two years.
The upcoming thriller has been in the news ever since it was announced, as was the presence of Bollywood veteran Om Puri and South Indian actress Ramya Krishnan in it. Om Puri will be seen as a modern-day ascetic, while Ramya plays Mathangi, the daughter of a tribal king. The movie also has an ensemble cast including Sheelu Abraham, Sudheer Karamana, Saju Navodaya, SP Sreekumar, Ramesh Pisharody and Baby Akshara Kishore.
Dinesh Pallath has penned the story and screenplay of the comedy-horror drama, for which Pradeep Nair has handled the cinematography. "Aadupuliyattam" is being produced under the banner of Grande Films Corporation by Haseeb Haneef and Noushad Alathur, and distributed by Play House.
