God has you in his arms. i have you in my heart. RIP Amma. - Jagannathan

The wave of humanity in Chennai bidding goodbye to their benevolent matriarch was a sight to behold. The state is in mourning for three days, but people's hearts may ache longer for their Amma.

Her boldness and courage should inspire the youngsters, said Vaidyanathan Ram

JAYALALITHA IS IRON LADY & WONDERFUL CHIEF MINISTER, said AR Nagaraj

Jayalalithaa was like an Amma to me, Amma to you, Amma to the whole wide world. I will miss my Amma soo much. :'( - Rajunathan

One of the strongest CMs ever. Dominated politics from her bastion in the South so much that even Delhi could not ignore her. Pity she suffered so much ill health of late. A true 'Amma' to all Tamilians. If only other women CMs did half as much as she did for their people, UP, West Bengal, Kashmir, Rajasthan would be better off. Long live Jayalalithaa-ji - Raj Jha

All people wish for Jayalalithaa, who lived a tumultuous political life, is that she rests in peace after working since the age of 13.

May her soul rest in peace! - Vishnu Sukumaran
