While several celebrities expressed grief at the death of Jayalalithaa (Jayalalitha), Kamal Haasan's condolence tweet irked the late Tamil Nadu chief minister's supporters.
Jayalalithaa died on Monday night at Apollo Hospital. Her demise created a sense of mourning around the nation. Many prominent celebrities paid their homage at the last rites of the dynamic politician.
Several celebrities from the entertainment industry took to Twitter as well and expressed sadness at the death of Jayalalithaa. However, Kamal Haasan raised many eyebrows with his tweet.
The veteran actor took to Twitter and said, "Deep sympathy for those who depend on Jayalalithaa." This tweet miffed many of the late Tamil Nadu chief minister's supporters who lashed out at Kamal on the micro-blogging site.
Kamal's daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan had also expressed their condolence for Jayalalithaa on Twitter. Angered at Kamal's blunt tweet, supporters of the "iron lady" slammed the actor saying that he should "learn something from his daughters".
