The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Party said on Thursday night that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was responding well to treatment and has been advised to stay in the hospital for a few more days for the same.
There were unconfirmed reports of the chief minister being put on ventilator support on Thursday. The Apollo Hospital, where Jayalalithaa has been admitted for the last seven days, had also not released any health update for over 60 hours.
However, party members have assured supporters that Jayalalithaa was doing well and that there was nothing to worry about.
"Don't believe rumours on Chief Minister's health...Amma is well, she is hale and hearty," AIADMK's CR Saraswathi told NDTV on Wednesday night.
The Tamil Nadu CM is being treated for fever and dehydration at the Apollo hospital in Chennai.
