Jayalalitha, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday evening and the doctors said that her condition is critical. A lot has been spoken and written about her health for the last two months, but there is poor clarity on it. Hence, Sasikala Pushpa, who was recently expelled from AIADMK, expressed her doubt on a conspiracy to snatch power from her.
"There is no transparency. People want to know whether she is alive or not. Prime Minister must intervene and take care of this. I request the Prime Minister to move her to AIIMS in Delhi. She should be under the control of the government and not a private hospital," Sasikala Pushpa told media today.
Sasikala Pushpa suspected some kind of conspiracy against Jayalalitha. "I suspect there might be some foul play...Nobody has visited her for the last two months. So what is going on there? There seems to be some secret there," the former AIADMK Member of Parliament added.
However, Jayalalitha's close aide Sasikala Natarajan is now in the second floor at Apollo Hospitals along with all the ministers and is not allowing anyone to meet the Tamil Nadu chief minister as per instructions to her. Natarajan is upset over the allegations of conspiracy and she broke down after hearing the charges.
TS Sudhir, a veteran journalist, tweeted: "#Sasikala and all ministers are on the second floor at #ApolloHospital in #Chennai. No one has access to #jayalalithaa room." He added: "Exclusive: #SasikalaPushpa's allegation that a conspiracy is being hatched against #jayalalithaa upset Sasikala natarajan. She broke down."
The authorities of Apollo Hospitals have released an official statement, saying that the health condition of Jayalalitha continues to be critical. "The honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who suffered a cardiac arrest yesterday evening, and continues to be very critical, is on ECMO and other life support systems. The honourable Chief Minister is being treated and closely monitored by a team of experts," read the statement.
The buzz in the social media claims that Jayalalitha was given CPR for 40 minutes before she was shifted to ECMO. The positive sign is that no bleeding is taking place from any vessel and her lactic acid balance is looking better than yesterday. But her physiological reserve is low, which is the biggest challenge for the medical team looking after her at Apollo Hospital.
