When we first heard that NetherRealm was planning on bringing Jason to the roster, it was easy for us to scrap it as a rumour. However, things went serious the moment the developer revealed a teaser showcasing the upcoming fighters. And now, as it seems, the Friday the 13th-based psycho killer is finally ready to appear.
True to its word, publisher Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced that Jason Vorhees will be making his way into the newly released Mortal Kombat game as one of the fighters in the roster on 5 May.
As far as details are concerned, Jason will be available for all those who had earlier purchased the Kombat Pack, or even the Jason Voorhees Bundle Pack. Apart from that, players will be able to purchase Voorhees on 12 May as a separate DLC character for $8, with Jason's massive blade and power-based skill set to make us of.
Also, the Jason Voorhees Bundle Pack owners will also receive as many as three new skins for the more established characters in the game. These include Kraken Reptile, Pharaoh Ermac and Vampiress Mileena. Fans should also note that the Horror Pack of skins for MK X will also be available on 12 May for $4.
You can watch Jason hacking his prey into pieces in the newly released gameplay video for Vorhees below.
Mortal Kombat X was released for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 14 April and is to head over to Xbox 360 and PS3 in Q2 or Q3 2015.
