Japan has confirmed that the beheading video of the second Japanese hostage Kenji Goto posted by ISIS is genuine and vowed to "punish the guilty."
The video shows a masked assassin, believed to be jihadist John, standing with a knife at the throat of the Japanese journalist.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in his statement condemned the "inhumane and contemptible act of terrorism," and said he will never forgive those terrorists.
Abe has also vowed that his country will work with the international community to bring those responsible for this crime to justice.
In the clip, Jihadist John, speaking in English with a British accent, said that Japan started an "unwinnable war" and blamed it for the execution of the journalist.
Earlier, ISIS had beheaded Haruna Yukawa, another Japanese national.
