The CW will not air a new episode of Jane The Virgin season 3 on December 12 as the romantic comedy drama has gone on a hiatus till its mid-season premiere in 2017. The show will return with episode 11 on January 23 and it is titled Chapter Fifty-Two.
Although the network is yet to release the official synopsis for the new episode, the trailer hints at a showdown between Jane Gloriana Villanueva and Catalina. The female lead is likely to confront her cousin sister regarding her relationship with the elderly Italian man.

The seventh episode, titled Chapter Fifty-One, ended with a major cliffhanger for Gina Rodriguez's character and her baby daddy Rafael. It was revealed that the owner of Marbella Hotel is an adopted son of Emilio Solano.
Although the trailer for episode 8 does not address the issue, speculations suggest that Justin Baldoni's character will meet his real parents when the show returns with its mid-season premiere episode. It is believed that Jane's cousin Catalina is in touch with his parents and she is trying to use him to make money.
