Junior NTR's Janatha Garage witnessed further drop in its collection at the US box office in its third weekend. The film failed to surpass the $2 million mark in the country in 18 days.

Janatha Garage, which was released in over 200 screens in North America on 1 September, collected $1,757,089 at the US box office in 15 days. The movie was expected to continue its dream run at the ticket counters and cross the $2 million mark in the country in its third week. But the film was forced to vacate 60 percent of cinema halls that it was holding in its second week to make way for new releases.

The reduced screen count and hype of new releases affected the collection of the Junior NTR-starrer, which hit the rock bottom on its third Friday. The movie showed good growth on Saturday, but its business further dipped considerably on Sunday. Janatha Garage has collected $26,898 at the US box office in its third weekend and its 18-day US gross total has reached $1,784,010.

Taran Adarsh ‏tweeted on 18 September: "Telugu film #JanathaGarage - USA - Wk 3: Fri $ 5,629, Sat $ 14,824. Total: $ 1,777,542 [₹ 11.92 cr]... Nearing $ 1.8 million mark! @Rentrak." Idlebrain tweeted on 19 September: "#JanathaGarage collects $6,445 on 3rd Sunday in USA and total gross is $1,784,010 "

Junior NTR's last outing, Nannaku Prematho collected over $2.1 million at the US box office in its life time. Janatha Garage was expected to beat this record, but it is struggling to cross the $2 million in the country. The movie needs to gross $215,990 to surpass the mark. But its current pace of collection shows that the film may not be able to achieve these numbers in its life time.

Ficus Entertainment has acquired the overseas distribution rights of Janatha Garage for Rs 7.25 crore. The bosses of the distribution house tweeted: "#JanathaGarage USA total gross till 3rd Sun $1,784,010 @tarak9999 #NTR26 Enjoy the movie with ur family & friends." The movie has earned Rs 7.17 crore for the distributors in the US alone and it fetched Rs 1.65 crore from its screening in other countries.
