Malayalam hero Unni Mukundan has finally confirmed that he will be part of a Telugu project with superstar Mohanlal. Interestingly, the actor will be seen in the role of an antagonist opposite Mohanlal in the much-awaited Tollywood project "Janatha Garage", which has Telugu superstar Junior NTR in the lead role.
This is the first time that Unni will be seen sharing screen space with Mohanlal and he expressed his happiness over playing the villain in the Koratala Siva directorial. The reports suggest that he will be seen as Mohanlal's son in "Janatha Garage" -- produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
"Finally, I'm going to share the screen for the FIRST TIME with LALETAN‪#‎Mohanlal‬ !! Moment of extreme happiness. Feeling terribly proud Cos I'm gonna be the VILLAIN and it's gonna be AWESOME !!! Happy to join the team of JANATA GARAGE ! ‪#‎JrNTR‬ and Director SIVA. Mythiri Productions will carry out the productions!!! I HOPE THAT I'LL BE AT MY BEST. NEED YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT !!! (sic)," Unni Mukundan posted on his Facebook page.
However, a few days ago, Unni had denied reports of him being part of any Tollywood project. "Hi, just an FYI... I've not committed any Telegu movie... Good day (sic)", he had earlier posted on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Unni starrer "Style", released on 2 January, received good response from the audience and critics alike for being a different action thriller in Malayalam. The Binu S directorial made good business at the Kerala box office and the stylish hero was appreciated for portraying the role of a car mechanic named Tom.
Unni also has Sajan K Mathew's debut directorial venture "Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya" in his kitty; he will play an electrician named Prakashan in it. The filming of the movie kickstarted in Palakkad on Thursday. "Shooting started for my next venture. I hope the entire team of OVMP can make the best one possible. Need your prayers (sic)," Unni posted on Facebook.
