'Janatha Garage' 1st weekend box office collection: NTR-Mohanlal's film crosses Rs. 100-crore mark in 4 days

Before its release, "Janatha Garage" had huge amount hype and promotion, which helped the film to fetch a record price from its theatrical rights. The hype also helped the movie to register a good advance booking. The trade experts had predicted that the film would start with a bang and fetch record breaking numbers in its opening weekend.

As predicted, "Janatha Garage" received superb response and collected Rs. 41 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. The film showed drop on its second day and it maintained rock-steady on the following days. The movie made a record breaking business in the global market in the first weekend.

"Janatha Garage" is estimated to have collected over Rs 115 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its four-day extended first weekend. The movie earned a massive share of over Rs 50 crore and returned 60 percent of the investments of its global distributors, who shelled out Rs 67+ crore on its theatrical rights.

"'Janatha Garage' got brilliant opening everywhere and fared well on the following day. The movie crossed Rs.100-crore mark at the worldwide box office on its third day. The action drama film also did well on Sunday and it crossed a massive share of Rs 50 crore for the distributors," Mahesh S Koneru, the publicist for the flick, told International Business Times India.

The Koratala Siva-directed film has broken the opening weekend collection records of "Srimanthudu," "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" and "Sarrainodu." The movie has emerged as non-Baahubali highest grossing Telugu movie in the opening weekend. "'Janatha Garage' has become the second fastest Telugu movie to achieve these feats, after SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginning," Mahesh told IBTimes India.
