Pakistan yet again violated ceasefire in the Pallanwala sector of Akhnoor on Saturday, a day after its army opened fire at Indian posts in Chapriyal and Samwan along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jammu district.
The violation comes after the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes across the LoC on September 28 killing two Pakistani soldiers and nearly 40 terrorists in response to the repeated infiltration bids from the other side of the border.
Army Chief Dalbir Singh also reached the Northern Command headquarters in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir to review the security situation along the border.
Meanwhile, restrictions continue to be imposed in several critical areas of the state for the 85th consecutive day.
