Jaguar has launched a new edition of its XF 2.2L Diesel in India at an affordable price tag of ₹45.12 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai, Pre Octroi).
Dubbed Executive Edition, the new XF misses out a few features when compared to the standard Jaguar XF 2.2L Diesel, but that also makes the new model cheaper by ₹4.5 lakh.
Under the hood, the XF 2.2-litre Diesel Executive Edition gets the same 2.2-litre diesel motor which can churn out a power of 190 PS and a peak torque of 450Nm.
The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
As for the features of the new model, the Executive Edition hosts a navigation system, a full size spare wheel, colour touchscreen and Jaguar Smart Key system with keyless start. The model misses out features like electric sunroof and rear camera, which is seen in its standard model. Inside, the Jaguar XF Executive Edition packs basic interior mood lighting, electronic front seats and electrically powered exterior mirrors.
"We are excited to introduce Jaguar XF 2.2L Diesel Executive Edition, at an attractive price point. It will enable us to access a wider audience which consists of discerning and premium Indian customers who have always loved the brand, aspired to own this sedan and be seen in it," OverDrive quoted Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover India, as saying.
Earlier this year, the company launched its locally assembled XJ in India with a price tag of ₹92.1 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. The local assembling of the vehicle has helped the company to cut down its vehicle price in the country to ₹92.1 lakh from ₹1.16 crore. The XJ is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 275PS at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 600Nm @2,000rpm. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and has a top speed of 250kmph.
