What AMG is for Mercedes-Benz and Nismo for Nissan, is what Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) for Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR). The special wing of the company is in charge of turning its regular cars more sporty with powerful engines and performance add-ons. The SVO focuses on special and exclusive vehicles of the JLR.
The division marked its beginning with exclusive F-Type Project 7, which was limited to 250 units. The new car in its sleeves is the F-Type SVR with 322kmph top speed, according to the company. Jaguar will unveil the car at the 86th Geneva International Motor Show in March 2016 and ahead of the unveiling, the company has released official images.
Compared to the regular F-Type, the F-Type SVR (R stands for racing) has an aggressive front with larger air intakes and a new splitter. The teaser video indicates ventilated hood, a titanium exhaust system, and a large rear spoiler that automatically deploys sensing car's speed. Other notable exterior feature is the 20-inch forged aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
Jaguar has reserved all the technical information unveiling on 17 February. However, the leaked brochure last week indicates the F-Type SVR will be powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that develops 575bhp and 700Nm of torque mated to eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive system. The car reportedly needs just 3.7 seconds to reach 100kmph from standstill before reaching the claimed top speed to 322kmph.
