Salman Khan had once jokingly said "Kick" heroine Jacqueline Fernandez would not star in the sequel as they had "kicked" her out of it.
According to a close friend of the "Sultan" actor, this comment has affected the leading lady in question, and so she has been trying to cosy up to the superstar to be able land a role in the film.
An actress told BollywoodLife the Sri Lankan beauty was seen jumping around Salman and was spotted rushing to meet him backstage of a recently-concluded award show.
"We've seen other actresses cosy up to Salman. Lots of actresses are thriving in Bollywood thanks to Khan promoting them. Seeing Jacqueline's behaviour that evening, we could say she could be the honorary member of that club," she added.
Interestingly, the sequel will have Salman play double roles, and he may romance Amy Jackson. Talking to Catch News, Amy revealed she was offered "Kick" but couldn't take it up as she had a a three-film contract with south director Shankar for "I". "And it is my dream to work with him. Salman and I are good friends, and I hope I get the chance to work with him again soon," she said.
Since there has been no confirmation about the Brit actress stepping in yet, this can, at best, be considered a rumour.
In other news, the film has already been set for a Christmas 2017 release.
