Jackie Shroff will be seen as a 'crooked Punjabi businessman' in Japinder Kaur's "Dilliwaali Zalim Girlfriend" (DGZ) and he is all excited about his baddie role with shades of comedy for the first time ever on silver screen.
"Dilliwaali Zalim Girlfriend" revolves around the story of an aspirant IAS officer, who takes a loan to buy a car and woo the girl he loves. He fails to repay the loan in time and is forced to encounter materialistic girls, the finance company and a hardened criminal.
Divyendu Sharma and Prachi Mishra are playing the lead roles in "Dilliwaali Zalim Girlfriend". Jackie Shroff has essayed a light-hearted baddie character in the film. The 'bindas bhidu' actor has played characters with grey shades in movies like "Aurangzeb", "Happy New Year" and others, but the role in his latest film excites him the most.
"I always loved playing villainous roles and I have also done in the past in the films like Parinda, Mission Kashmir Swami Dada, 100 Days, etc...But the kind of grey characters I am playing right now is fun. I had a whale of a time playing a baddie with comic shades for the first time in Dilliwaali Zalim Girlfriend. It was hilarious and amazing experience. I love such colourful, fun-loving villains," Jackie said in a statement.
Japinder Kaur says that Jackie Shroff is the perfect actor to play the character. "When I had decided to cast him in the role of a Punjabi Businessman in Dilliwaali Zalim Girlfriend, a lot of people told me it wasn't a wise decision. However now that the film is complete the very same people are saying it is one of the best casting they have seen off late," said the director.
Manjeet Kaur and Tarnpreet Singh have produced "Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend", which features Ira Dubey and Pradhuman Singh in important roles. The movie is slated to release on 20 March, 2015.
