Shahrukh Khan's huge fan base abroad is one of the main reasons for his latest film "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" to have scored well at the overseas box office.
The film was released on Nov 13 across 600 screens in the overseas market. Directed by late Yash Chopra, it had a good opening there.
The romantic film, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, has done amazing business at the overseas box office. The film global collection till third week now stands at ₹67.75 crore ($12.37 million).
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" has now become Bollywood's third highest and Shahrukh's second highest grosser film overseas. Aamir Khan's 2009 movie "3 Idiots" is still ruling the chart with ₹123 crores ($25 million) followed by Shahrukh's 2010 movie "My Name is Khan" with ₹115 crores ($23 million).
"JTHJ" now stands third with ₹67.75 crore ($12.37 million), while Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" is pushed to the sixth spot with ₹61 crores ($10.75 million).
The romantic drama has also crossed lifetime business of films like "Don 2", "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna", "Ek Tha Tiger", "Om Shanti Om", "Ra.One", "Dhoom 2" and "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" in the international market, according to Koimoi.com.
Among the top ten Bollywood's Highest Overseas Grosser, seven films feature Shahrukh.
The movie was also doing well at on the domestic front until the release of Aamir's "Talaash". The movie's collections had reduced considerably due to the falling number of screen counts.
