Finally, the wait is getting over. Tata Motors' second offering from company's Horizonext is all geared up to thrill the auto lovers in the country.
The auto enthusiasts in the country have waited long to hear the launch news of Bolt. Now the company has confirmed that the Bolt hatchback will be launched officially on 22 January.
Previous reports have suggested that the dealers of the company have started receiving the first set of hatchbacks and the model is also getting soft launch at malls. The bookings for Bolt are underway in the country with a down payment of ₹11,000.
Measuring 3,825mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,562mm in height, Bolt borrows lots of features from Tata Zest. It comes seated on a wheelbase of 2,470mm and gets a ground clearance of 165mm. The feature list of Bolt includes MapmyIndia GPS navigation, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control and lot more.
Bolt will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Under the hood, the petrol variant of the car packs 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp at 5,000rpm and a torque of 140Nm of 1,750-3,500rpm.
The diesel model gets 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp and peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Like the Zest, the Bolt will also offer Eco, City and Sport driving modes.
Speaking of the pricing, Bolt is expected to get a price tag around ₹6.5 lakh and when launched, Tata's small car Bolt will be competing against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i10, i20, Honda Jazz and Chevrolet Beat in the domestic market.
