It looks like South Korean car maker Hyundai is all set to rock the Indian market with a slew of upcoming launches. Auto enthusiasts in the country have been speculating on the possible launch dates of the much-anticipated ix25 SUV and the crossover Elite i20 Cross; now it seems like they are close to the launch dates.
A recent report in Economic Times, citing top company executives revealed that Elite i20 cross will hit Indian roads sometime in April this year.
In 2015, the first to reach Indian showrooms from the house of Hyundai will be the Verna facelift. It is said that Verna facelift will be presented to its fans in India in February. A previous report had said that the new avatar of Verna will be launched on 16 February. That is not all. The report also claims that Hyundai's much awaited compact SUV ix25 will make it to the Indian market during the festive season of 2015, around October-November.
Verna facelift
Mid-sized sedan Verna in its new avataar is expected to pose serious challenge to its rivals in the domestic market. The facelift Verna is expected to come with fog lamps with LED DRLs and redesigned rear end with updated bumper and integrated reflectors.
From a visual stand point, Verna facelift is also likely to feature redesigned front fascia with new grille and headlamps. The engine line-up of the Verna facelift is likely to include the same 1.4-litre diesel and petrol engines and 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines, with a five-speed manual gearbox for petrol and a six-speed manual for diesel.

Elite i20 Cross
Elite i20 is a crossover is based on Hyundai's popular Elite i20 .The crossover is likely to have a similar design and style of its small sibling i20 except for the typical feature of crossover like plastic-cladding, roof-railing and side-body cladding.
Under the hood, the new i20 crossover is expected to carry over the same engine of its smaller Elite i20. The current Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. The petrol engine is tuned to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor capable of generating 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm.
The expected changes include a reworked front fascia with new projector headlight with LED daytime running lights and new big alloy wheels.

ix25, the model which made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show 2014 will rival India's popular SUVs Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano.
India specific ix25 is likely to get power from the 1.6 litre petrol and diesel units and is likely to pack features like central console with audio controls, air con vents and climate controls. In the international markets, the ix25 is sold with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions with choices of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
