Hrithik Roshan and his estranged wife Sussanne Khan were granted divorce by a family court on Saturday 1 November 2014. The announcement comes nearly one year after Roshan and Khan called off their marriage.
"The court has granted divorce to both of them. It was a divorce by mutual consent," Roshan's lawyer Mrunalini Deshmukh told PTI.
According to a report in The Times of India, both the "Bang Bang" star and Khan arrived in separate vehicles and after being granted official divorce they left the court room before 11 am.
Roshan entered the court premises in a black shirt and donned a hat, while Khan wore a white T-shirt. The lawyers for both of the celebs, Deshmukh and Dipesh Mehta, accompanied their respective clients to the court room.
As per the court orders, both the celebs will share the custody of the children Hrehaan (7) and Hridaan (5) and will have a parental role in their upbringing.
Roshan and Khan, who were childhood sweet-hearts shocked fans when they decided to walk out of their marriage of 14 years, back in December 2013. The couple, however, made no allegations against each other.
And in April this year, the duo filed for divorce, after which Khan was granted the custody of their children.
At the time of their separation, both Roshan and Khan had issued separate statements to the media. The "Bang Bang" actor had hinted that it was his wife who decided to walk out of their marriage.
"This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me, my love for her must accomplish that," Roshan wrote on his Facebook page.
Sussanne also issued a statement and mentioned that they are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made their own individual choices.
