The long wait for Honda's much anticipated Mobilio could end anytime from now as the company has officially started the booking for the vehicle in the country.
Honda, which earlier released a TVC featuring Kapil Sharma as the salesman has now revealed yet another ad, giving out more details of Honda's first MPV Mobilio in the country, including the booking details of the vehicle in the country.
The dealers of the company across the country have commenced the bookings with an advance payment of ₹50,000 and the delivery of the vehicle is likely to be varied depending upon the variant of the Mobilio.
Expected to be priced in the ₹6 lakh to ₹8.50 lakh (ex-showroom) range, Honda Mobilio will challenge the current MPV market leaders Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia in India.
Honda Mobilio, the Maruti Ertiga killer is slated for a July launch in the country. Underpinning Honda's popular Brio hatchback, Mobilio, Honda's first offering in the MPV segment in India will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines in the country.
Power will come from 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. While the petrol model of the car will pack 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor, which can churn out a power of 117 bhp, and the diesel variant will come with 98 bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit, which powers Honda's popular City and Amaze.
The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual and CVT gearbox. While the diesel model of MPV Mobilio is expected to deliver 26 kmpl, the petrol version is likely to give 18 kmpl.
Set to become the country's most fuel-efficient vehicle in this segment, Honda Mobilio, the Honda's MPV measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width, 1,610 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,650 m.
Honda will also be bringing the sporty variant, Mobilio RS to India. Previous reports have indicated the Mobilio RS launch is likely to happen around September-October this year. In Indonesia, where the vehicle is on sale already, Mobilio RS features new sporty front and rear bumper along with LED projector headlamps and chrome finishing fog lamps.
In addition to this, the RS variant of Mobilio is also upgraded with aero-dynamic kit, roof-mounted spoiler and 15-inch alloy wheels.
