It's Nani Vs Nani: 'Yevade Subramanyam' and 'Janda Pai Kapiraju' Set to Release on Ugadi

This Ugadi, it is going to be Nani vs Nani at the box office, as two of his most-awaited movies "Yevade Subramanyam" and "Janda Pai Kapiraju" will be released on the same day: 21 March.

"Yevade Subramanyam" is a comedy film, which marks the debut of Nag Ashwin and Malavika Nair as director and heroine respectively. The movie produced by Priyanka Dutt under the banner Swapna Cinema, revolves around the story of a young corporate executive named Subramanyam, who finds his true self on a journey.

Nani (Naveen Babu Ghanta) is playing the titular character Subramanyam in "Yevade Subramanyam", which features newcomer Malavika Nair; Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma play supporting roles. Major portions of the film have been shot on Mount Everest at the Everest Base Camp and these sequences will be among the main highlights of the movie.

The songs and trailers of "Yevade Subramanyam" were released recently and garnered good response from movie buffs. Besides, they have also created lot curiosity about the film among the audience. The makers have planned a massive promotion for the movie, which is releasing in a large number of screens worldwide this Friday.

Nani's other film "Janda Pai Kapiraju" is an action-thriller, which was simultaneously made in Tamil as "Nimirndhu Nil" with Jayam Ravi as hero. Samuthirakani has written and directed both the versions. The movie is about a 26-year-old idealist's fight against corrupt bureaucrats.

"Janda Pai Kapiraju", which has been produced by KS Sreenivasan, features Nani in dual roles. His looks in both the roles have created lot of curiosity among film goers, who have been waiting for its release for more than a year. Siva Balaji, Amala Paul and Ragini Dwivedi play important roles in the film.

"Nimirndhu Nil", the Tamil version of "Janda Pai Kapiraju" was released on 8 March in 2014 and was a box office hit. The Telugu version was initially slated to release in February 2014, but got delayed due for unknown reasons. Now, it is gearing up to hit theatres worldwide to coincide wit the release of "Yevade Subramanyam".

Both the films have interesting storylines. Nani, who has a huge fan following, is playing hero in both the films. His looks in both the films have impressed viewers. A look at his Twitter and Facebook pages reveal the actor is busy promoting "Yevade Subramanyam" and has hardly posted anything relating to "Janda Pai Kapiraju" on his pages in recent days.

It should be recalled here his last two movies "Paisa" and "Aaha Kalyanam" released in the same month with a gap of two weeks. Both turned out to be average grossers.

This time, with the two films set to be released on the same day, movie buffs are surely going to be split between the two, which will eat into each other's share, causing loss to the makers.

Will makers of "Yevade Subramanyam" and "Janda Pai Kapiraju" try to avoid their clash at the box office? Will Nani make an attempt for it? Or will both the films end up money spinners? Only time will answer these questions.
