After months of speculations and leaks, Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has finally confirmed the launch of its fully-faired Gixxer bike in India.
The bike, which is named Gixxer SF will make its India debut on 7 April. Although the company has not revealed the key specifications and the pricing details of the model in the country, two wheeler enthusiasts here have a fairly good idea of what to expect from this new fully-faired model. Thanks to the innumerable spy shots and rumour mills for continuously churning out the key details of the model.
The previous spy shots have shown us the new Gixxer SF model in its undisguised and disguised avatar. The Gixxer SF, a model which carries Hayabusa front styling will be pitted against Yamaha Fazer and Honda CBR in the domestic market.
In terms of styling and design, the new Gixxer SF shares more than a passing resemblance to its sibling Gixxer 155, which is currently in the market. The riding position and the handle bar of the new model also remain unchanged. The changes are likely to be in the form of bigger windshield and as the name indicates, its full front fairing.
Mechanically, the new Gixxer is also likely to get power from the same 154.9cc four-stroke single cylinder air-cooled engine which can churn out 14.8PS @8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm @6,000rpm.
Suzuki is likely to offer Gixxer SF in Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Red and Metallic Grey with a price tag around ₹90,000.
